We'd rather have it Ron sans bike then just sans Ron.

Amen to that brother Woj. Please call when you get here. Moe, I have your room reserved. Tell Lynn that Nicklaus turned 1 today. He is a handful but can't wait to see his Auntie Lynn.

There are a few 2007 Americas at the new dealership in Ormond, including the blue and creme version. Looks pretty sharp. There are 3 Bonnies, including Janet's now famous black and creme.

I don't know what is on the truck over in demo world, but they better be '07's.

What else can I tell ya? When do the yutes arrive?

EDIT: I have been informed that the AMA Daytona 200 is set for Saturday afternoon. If y'all are interested in some superbike madness, we will have to adjust the schedule. Let me know.

Ryan,
I'm going to the race. It would be good if we could go as a group.

Moe,

The last time I did a DEMO ride during bike week I was doing 90mph, during part of it, trying to keep up with the Triumph leader. At the start of the DEMO ride he stated that he would run just a little over the speed limit, and that any traffic infractions were the responsibility of each rider. It was a great DEMO ride, but his definition of "a little" wasn't what I thought it would be.

Tom

Best to get there very early to secure a demo ride, especially the 2nd weekend of the rally. 7:30AM early, or earlier. Triumph has been "selling out" the slots on their rides very early in the day. This weekend is the best time (IMHO).

There sure is something to be said about demo rides and Open Houses. Or Demo trucks at stealerships. The wait then is maybe an hour. Demo'ed in Evansville, Indiana. Demo'ed in Newnan, Georgia. Both times sweet. The Newnan demo was astronaut moe on a r3!

I think I'll be trying out the R3 on Friday as well, I've got my buddy Gay (yes, Gay) convinced that he should try one out as well. He's the typical biker looking guy, big bushy grey beard and long gray ponytail (sweetest guy you'll ever meet though).

9:30 Thursday morning and it's freezing rain here. We'll be leaving in about an hour for the long drive down.

See everyone some time in the next week and a half. Everyone have a safe trip there, keep the rubber down.

Are they only doing demo rides during the weekdays? I have some of my upcoming work schedule and I may be able to make it down on Friday (next week) and then home on Sunday (along with EVERYONE ). I'll only be able to demo the Daytona if they offer them on Saturday but last year I seem to remember that they only did them during the weekdays. At least I'll be able to get down there for the important part, eating at Ryan's

I knew it. I was just waiting to see that lightbar pulling up my driveway on Saturday night!

They should be offering rides all week. I haven't been over to check yet. I'll do that recon. tomorrow.

Awesome Greg!

Along with Ron I'd like to watch the superbike racing on Saturday. I know we planned on doing it last year and went riding instead but I would like to do it this year. Unless it interferes with the cookout, of course.

AMA Superbike race is at 2pm.

Cookout is set to begin between 4-5, but it will be very flexible.

Should give all plenty of time.

In addition Triumph should be demo'ing starting today through next Friday, March 9.

In addition the Bonneville Performance race team will be racing at Barberville this Sunday, March 4. I may be attending.

Fran and I are riding up to Daytona Sunday March 4th. AHRMA

Quote:

Volusia County Fairgrounds on Sunday, March 4, for Daytona registration and tech inspection Schedule:

* Gates open at 7 a.m.
* Registration and tech open 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.
* Mandatory riders' meetings at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
* Town Hall meeting, 12 p.m.

Quote:

AHRMA moves to Daytona International Speedway on Monday and Tuesday, March 5 and 6. Note that the current "AMA" track layout will be used. Tentative plans were to run the old, 3.56-mile configuration, but logistics involving CCS racing and air fences will prevent this from happening in 2007. There is a chance the old layout might be used in '08.

Quote:

Daytona schedule:

* Sunday, March 4 — Speedway move-in about 4 p.m., through Gate 40 (new tunnel; details at the fairgrounds riders' meeting).
* Monday & Tuesday, March 5 & 6 — Paddock opens, 6:30 a.m. Practice, 8-11 a.m. Racing begins, noon. Awards presentation (Monday only), 5 p.m. Everyone must leave paddock by 6 p.m. both days. All rigs, no matter what size, come and go through Gate 40.

I knew I'd jinx it if I spoke too soon....

I'll still be down there but I won't be flying home from the jobsite until Friday (got pushed back a day) which means I won't show up until Saturday. I doubt I'll make it before 2pm for the superbike race so I'll head straight to Ryan's house for the cookout.

Yeah, 6 AM...In Haiti. Well, my bike is back together. Took a short ride with Wojo last evening after he spend a night of his vacation helping myself and my neighbor with my bike. Looks pretty sharp. Can't wait to see everyone who is coming. We miss those who are not.

Gordon Lynchphoto arrived safely in Daytona around 4pm on Wednesday. We celebrated his first night in town watching a movie. Wojo went to watch some flat track action. Perhaps we will partake tonight.

We anxiously await Phil's arrival today.

Thanks to the members of the extended BA.com family who graced our home over the last weekend of Daytona 2007. Jen, the kids, and I had a great time, and we all wish that it hadn't ended so soon. Very much looking forward to Dahlonega, and a REAL RALLY!

Perhaps those inclined in Florida could get together before May???????

I just want to thank Ryan and Jen for opening their home to members of the BA.COM family and their friends. Sue, my brother Rob and my sister-in-law Joanne all had a great time. The food was out of this world and the company was the best. I wonder is Wojo's mouth has recovered from those hot wings. It was great to see everyone and make some new friends.
