Not to take away from the downtown action, but I was thinking of having a cookout for the faithful on Saturday afternoon March 10. The date is flexible, but I don't want to take too much vacation for silly Bike Week with a full Summer of rallies, etc. Let's talk it over. If we are planning on doing the Rat Ride to St. Augustine Saturday morning, that might conflict as I foresee a day of bbq'ing and cleaning in preparation.

Saturday - 4pm 'ish bbq at the Meyer household

menu tbd
kids and wife WILL BE IN TOWN.

That leaves Friday night for Main Street. Transportation, for those staying around town, can be arranged.

Jennifer is looking forward to it. Has been a rough week for her as her close friend next door died suddenly last Friday afternoon.

Sorry to hear about your wife losing her friend Ryan. I know it's not easy, friends and family make you who you are and when one is lost a piece of you feels like it has been taken.

Saturday sounds good to me. I was leaving that day open to be with you guys anyways. Whatever we do is good for me so I will leave it up to the rest of you.

Looking forward to this and it's not getting here fast enough.

I am heading up Thursday afternoon, leaving Sunday.
BBQ? Sounds great!!!
Main Street? yawn.

I'd rather do some riding while there. Like the loop, CR11, SR483...

Agree on main street, it's too crazy the last weekend and I'd rather be ridin' and BSin' with friends.

To All,

I will be at Daytona from Sunday March 4th through Thursday March 8th with two riding buddies. We intend to see all the sights so will be riding through town every day. Is there anyplace where the BA guys will be hanging out? I would love to stop by and say hi.

Unfortunately will be unable to go to the house party one of the guys is having.

Triumph truck is on-site this morning. Earliest I can ever remember them showing up for a Bike Week demo event. Are we planning on doing the RAT ride on Saturday morning? I am not, due to cooking concerns. Gotta stay by the grill.

We can demo early Friday maybe and then ride up to the dealership followed by an extended loop ride, etc. Am up for anything. Maybe we should hit Boondocks Friday night? Saturday is cooking day for me, though Ms. Jennifer is staying home Friday to prepare for the feast.

Goals of Bike Week
1) stay alive
2) don't spend too much money with big bore approaching.

Ryan,
If it is Ok I'll hang with the Meyer's on Saturday. Give ya a hand with the dishes or what nots. Lynn is most likely riding up with me. Daytona and Bikeweek are to me like oil and water. Rather just say hi to everyone at your place. That Ok by you and the J-boss? We can witness the legions of riders arriving to your place covered in coleslaw and chocolate pudding, complete with caca eating grins from the demo rides. You know, I just thought about the demo rides. How can one demo ride? Heck, you can't even really ride your own motorsickle let alone a demo bike during bike week in Daytona...

Ryan,

Saturday sounds great, will try and make it for sure.

As usual the local traffic enforcement will be out in force, with this years big push to enforce noise restrictions. So if you are running loud pipes, just be careful.

Moe,

The last time I did a DEMO ride during bike week I was doing 90mph, during part of it, trying to keep up with the Triumph leader. At the start of the DEMO ride he stated that he would run just a little over the speed limit, and that any traffic infractions were the responsibility of each rider. It was a great DEMO ride, but his definition of "a little" wasn't what I thought it would be.

I'm more than happy to just hang out on Saturday. I was thinking of trying to grab a demo ride this Friday, first thing when I arrive but it all depends on how things go, I'm playing it by ear. If everyone wants to go next Friday I'll gladly tag along. The only plans I have set in stone are "hanging with the BA.com guys when they show up."

One day of work left. woohoo.
