I read a similar post today of someone saying he wished he would have never sold a bike he used to own. I have the disease of selling my bikes and buying a different one every 2 years, or less. Be honest, which bike have you had and wished you'd never sold? Or do you still own your favorite? I have not bought a SM, yet. So, my favorite bikes so far have been the 1995 Honda Magna & 2005 Mean Streak (which I now own). Soon to be a Speedmaster......?

My Suzuki TS185 was a nice enduro when I was a teenage. My Honda CB500 wasn't that good but I was the 5th owner and didn't have the money to fix the little things it needed when I was 22. My Yamaha 350 something or another was a 2 stroke smoker that had carb problems. I guess it's no contest, my America by far is my favorite bike of all time.

A 1983 KZ1100D2 Spectre named Beetlejuice. 3mm overbore, V&H 4into1 open header, Dynojet kit, it was an absolute beast, blew flames out the exhaust on the overrun.

A Yahama RD350 LC the bike of hooligans of a certain age over here. But now it has to be my BA I just love it and cannot see me parting with it for any reason. Its not the fastest bike around but it certainly gets more looks and attention than any of the plastic pocket rockets or the HDs around here. Probably because its the only one around this way.

My '04 TBA with modifications has been the BEST bike I've ever owned. Old yamaha and 74 shovel were fun, but never as reliable, powerful or fun...... in the best colour too! Warren

I've only owned three and I have all of them.
As much as I love my 125, and the 06.....there will never be a love like that which I have for my 03 America...
Gina
03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel...
06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel...
09 America - It's very blue....

Favorite bike I've ever owned? Well I've only owned one so that's my favorite.
Favorite bike I've ever ridden? Well I've only ridden a few, but I have to say the Rocket III. The power is addicting. It scares me. I'm not saying I won't someday buy one, but I have to make sure I have a will in place.

Back in 1976 I bought a 76 Honda trials bike. 200 or 250 cc, I don't realy remember. Most fun I ever had. Now that I am older and ride the road only, the America is by far the best.

It was 1976 when I bought my 360 Yamaha scrambler, man was this a blast. It took off like a rocket and at the time was the quickest bike in town. It also taught me more about riding than any other bike I have ever owned.

Had nothing but Hondas (started in '64 - "First gear it's alright....") until I got a 1969 Triumph Daytona (500cc, dual carb, very similar look to pre 71 Bonnies). Then got a 71 Bonnie, but liked the Daytona better. They had changed the tank, forks, frame - looked more Japanese and had a higher sitting position than the pre 71. Quit for awhile, bought a Honda Rebel, sold it and went 14 years without.
Bought the TA in 2005 - like it better than any bike I've had by far!

Man, this is tough, real tough. I have loved most of the bikes i have owned. So if you will allow, i will pick my favorite three.
1980 BMW R100RS, wonderful machine. Traded it for a car, bad mistake...HUGE. 1997 Suzuki TL1000S, 0-100mph in a wink and it handled like it was on rails. It had to go, i think eventually it would have killed me. 1970s??? Honda CB400Four. The original pocket rocket. A bike the size of a 200cc but with the power of a 550. Great smile maker, and so much fun.

One I never sold (it was stolen) that I would love to still have today was my 75 350RD. That little 2 stroker was just plain fast (after a 'little' work). Great for ripping about! Of course, I was a yute then...

I have owned several bikes over the years. The one that brings back the most memories was a Suzuki GS 850. It had a Windjammer faring with hard saddlebags. The shaft drive was extremely smooth. Back in 1980 I saved my money bought the bike and took off on a 6 month trip out west on my Suzuki. It was a part of my life that I will never forget with many memorable times on it. Without this bike I would of never seen the wonders of the West like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon to name but a few. I would love one day to try this again but family, time, job and mostly money at this time in my life would not permitt it but you got to keep the dream alive.

Next to my current red TBA motorcicle, was a '72 BSA 650 Lightning. As ugly as the white frame and metallic orange paint was, that was a wonderful ride. Took me all up and down the US west coast and carried me on my first viewing of Vancouver, B.C, Idaho and Montana. Mert, my StingRay was metallic blue and was the first one in town with the flipped up seat. The previous years had the flat banana seat. You think I'm cool now? You should've known me then .

The 'Banana Peeler' didn't have any speeds, but the springer front and the rear shocks on the seat were pretty cool. Yes, I'd like to know how many valuable baseball cards were used to make that one go. My 71 Honda CB 750 probably has the best memories associated with it. My favorite I still have is the 45 c.i. HD Flathead I restored. Just something about it.....
later, Tom.
But, what do I know?

YEAH?!
Well I WASN'T gonna say anything Rob, but when I was back there in NH a few weeks ago, I THOUGHT I saw the Jack Of Spades wedged up between the fork tubes and the spokes of that cool lookin' BA o' yours.

I have loved them all: The Zundapp 2 stroke, the BSA Gold Star, the Virago and the Harley LowRider and Road King. BUT the present 03 BA represents the all-time best balanced bike ever. The looks, sound and performance make the America my all-time favorite. SteveB

My 1969 BSA Firebird Street Scrambler.

My 1969 BSA Firebird Scrambler with down pipes. I did it in purple metal flake with green metal flake flames. The tank was a peanut and too cool.
But right up there are my current SM, current Yamaha TW 200 (more fun than should be allowed), and my '79 Yamaha XT500. I'd run a motorcycle shop, but go broke 'cause I couldn't sell any of them.
