Well it happened, on friday evening I was travelling home from work when a car failed to give way at a round about. The result was I was knocked off my bike and my TBA is now in the hands of the dealers, with the possiblity that it may be an insurance right off. I won't know for a few days weather Iam going to get the love of my life back. Oh woe is me. I have now just got to wait, battle with the insurance companies and hope for the best and get drunk as I have nothing to ride for a while.

Ride safe and watch out for blind car drivers

So sorry to hear that...as long as you're ok, that's what counts!
On the bright side, lots of good deals on used bikes right now!
Take care man!

What a nightmare! As was said, the important thing is you're OK. Bikes can be fixed or replaced easier than we can.

What they said, tough to bang up the bike but a lot tougher to heal up bad injury so in that respect its a good accident.

I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

fishman,
Don't sweat it, the big thing is that you are ok as many have stated.
Fix it, get a new one, who cares, at least you are able to do the above.

Glad you are okay. You just never know when some fool is not paying attention.

At the state capitol building in Austin this week, 2000 bikers showed to encourage some legislation. One part of the legislation would be madatory 30 day jail for anyone who injuries a pedesterian, bicycle rider or motorcycle and it is the drivers fault. I doubt that would ever pass but it sure would get peoples attention and there would be fewer incidents like yours.

Good luck with your bike.

I'm not gonna say at least you are still here.... when mine got wrote off there was nothing more annoying. I was still worried about what happened to the bike!!!! OK so I was touched that people were thinking of me...

Do what you have to. If they don't write it off get it repaired. If they do write it off, get a new one, buy the salvage and still get it repaired...

Just get back on. If you can , get a hire one through their insurance. The longer you leave it the worse it'll be. OK maybe going pillion to the hospital and then home was a little bit too soon, but it got me out there again.

And thinking of you.

I don't think tougher penalties would prevent these kind of accedents. I mean they (The Gov) and polititians looking for a cause to jump on, have tried the "Tougher Penalty" thing on just about everything from drug dealing to j walking. It didnt stop any of it.

It would perhaps make the victum or the victums family feel better.

You can't stop someone from driving with his or her head logded firmly in their colons.

What might help would to get the auto makers to act a little more responceably. On last nights news(man i got to stop watching that) they report results of a study about drivers distracted buy electronic gizmo's IE cell phones, black berrys,i-pods, mutlie function cd players, gps units and the like. Most of the drivers they talked to adimited to being distacted and not palying attention. Be cause they where fiddling with one or more gadgets.

Detroit's responce is a race to put more electronic gadgets in new cars as options.Their reasoning is that People will bring those thing into cars anyway. So why not preinstall and turn a nice profit in the mean time? "It's what the public wants". Screw public safty, people want luxury.
And we want profits.

ok i've spouted my pointless opinion.
sorry to hear about your wreck hope the ins company makes good on it. Where the heck is spring.

The percentage you're paying is too high-priced While you're living beyond all your means And the man in the suit has just bought a new car From the profit he's made on your dreams

Thanks for all the support. The dealers have just told me that they have been given the go ahead to repair my bike. I should therefore be back on the road in 3-4 weeks time (should miss all the worst weather by then). So thanks again for the support.

Glad to hear that your bike's going to get repaired and even more so that you didn't get seriously hurt.
