I'm considering lowering my SM useing Progressive Suspension shocks & fork springs. Is the ride quality close to the factory ride, or better or worse ? I only ride single.

I lowered my BA with Progressive shocks & fork springs over a year ago and really love the feel of it. The draw back is if you hit any holes or bumps in the road, you will feel it more on your front end. It feels stiffer then the factory setup. Also depending on how you take corners and the style pipes you run on your bike, is how bad your going to scrape them up. I have D&D's on mine which have an upward slant to them which really helps when I take a corner sharply.

We lowered our America 2-1/4" with a custom set of rear shock mounting brackets using the stock shock, and modified the front springs/spacers for almost 2" in front. One notch up on the rears and the bike rides and handles as good as or better than before. The shorty pipes on it scrape slightly in hard deep turns, but are just fine for around town.

Hey Boogieman,
I checked out your pics in the PhotoPost section....pretty nice. I like the key mod to the console and the lowered rear shock mounts. Any info on the lowering brackets for the rear?

Thanks for the comps. Those pictured are the first production set. They work quite well. Will be making more soon. Thinking about the key relocation as well. Easy to do and very handy too.

Boogiman, could you sell me a set of those lowering brackets as well? I'm tearing my bike down right now, and will need to lower the rear to see where to bob the fender.
Thanks
Paschal

Where did you get the brackets?
