We lowered our America 2-1/4" with a custom set of rear shock mounting brackets using the stock shock, and modified the front springs/spacers for almost 2" in front. One notch up on the rears and the bike rides and handles as good as or better than before. The shorty pipes on it scrape slightly in hard deep turns, but are just fine for around town.
