Joe,
The more the merrier!! If you haven't been to one of these rallies you won't be sorry when you show up. Throw a leg over and ride on down.
What do you pack? It doesn't matter you can't take it all with you anyways. Bring what you're wearing, an extra layer if it gets cold and a rain suit. What else do you need?
All this special counting is makin' my head hurt. I guess I'm just not s(little m)art.

LOL, all true. Well I am at "work" and checking rates....Obviously there is some insider info on the Days Inn vs. the Econo. I think they both have rooms. Whats the scoop? I am trying to talk my younger brother into making the run. He rides an 04 T-100...is he allowed?
Thanks for the info.
The DaysInn/Econolodge is more of a tolerance issue than anything else.. Raj at the Days Inn seems to be a bit more forgiving of drunkeness in the parking lot at 2 a.m. All bikes are welcome.. we don't discriminate.. Harleys.. Kawasakis Yamahamamas...or if you can strap an Evenrude to it.. bring that along too.

Also Raj supplies wipe down towels for our bikes, coffee in the morning, a certain undescernable scent to the rooms and a really close proximity for a Dairy Queen run.... all for no additional cost to you, the consumer.... ride safe... Gordon

It looks worse and worser for me to get there. I though this welding a trailer thing would be easy but, I have to have a root or bevel for 3/8 steel even if it's a fillet and blah, blah , blah. Not as easy as I thought. So don't know if the trailer will be done in time. Unless , of course , I don't mind it pulling apart on the way down!

Thanks to all for the info. I am scary close to calling Raj for a booking. Been on the phone half the morning with my brother...tryin to figure out how to get saddle bags and a round/sissy bar bag on his T-100 with the Corbin smuggler seat. Also running the packing scenarios, LMAO "4 pair of socks, etc, toothbrush, lol. Yah know, from the budget side, $40ish in fuel up and back and a couple hundred in a room, looks like a fairly cheap trip. Boy I am talking myself right into this gig. It aint official but I am afraid I am headed down the "slippery slope".

Well,no turning back now, just got off the phone. Me and Bobu are booked for the 2nd through the 6th at the Raj (Days Inn). We are going to check out some luggage this morning to prepare for the trip/adventure. I have struggled through a lot of personal B.S. in the last 14 months and really need to get away. This will be the first vacation I have taken in two years; I am definately looking forward to "getting away" for a while. Can't wait to get this thing kicked off!

I live near Knoxville and will try to hook up with you guys near the Cherohala on Thursday, May 3rd. Where and when are you going to hit it? I might also try to ride to Bryson City the end of April for the RAT rally. Is there a link?

Ok...Matt and I are planning our southbound trip, so here's a few lodging related questions.
1. Does anyone know the rates for the 2 hotels in question? 2. Which hotel will be more Yute-tolerant?

The yutes will most accepted at the Days Inn ( Raj Mahal ). Around 52.00- 60.00 dollars a night I believe. The Econo Lodge didn't really like us out of our rooms after around 10:00 PM last year.... for some unknown reason ... ride safe... Gordon

Actually this could be a trick question...In the bond movie The Man With The Golden Gun there were two "bond girls" 1. Who is Britt Ekland (Mary Goodnight) 2. Who is Maude Adams (Scaramangas chicky named Miss Andreas (or something close to that))
the year was "when was 1974" and Bond was played by (the lesser of Bond stars) Roger Moore
