You want pure speed , get a sportbike, like a Triumph Daytona 675 or a Yamaha R6.
For crusing fun, got an America or a Speedmaster.
If you want to haul someone, get her one, too.
They're pretty small bikes, and you can even lower them.
I did ride a 450 Magna, not at all what I expected, but it was an old one. It felt faster than it really was.
You take off some AIS stuff from the Triumph motor, rejet it, add some slip ons, and it's just a fun bike. <G>
