I here Jade Goody's been evicted from Big Brother. All I can say is thank **** for that! It's virtually all that's been on the news recently over here - 36,000 complaints to C4 & Ofcom, burning effigies in Bangladesh, government involvement, psychologists and sociologists' debates you name it!
Well maybe we can now all get back to normal and start dealing with something that actually matters...

Sorry, I should have explained for our brothers overseas that Big Brother is a 'reality' TV... show?. Several characters are picked to spend three months in a house together with no escape, cameras everywhere, their every move watched. The house masters deliberately make things harder for them as the show goes on. It would seem that the housemates are carefully chosen so as to end up with a mix of normal, not so normal, outrageous, has beens or just plain oddball misfits. Naturally after so long, some hit it off together with others sparks start to fly.
Big Brother
I just can't believe all the media attention, fuss and bother this has caused though and at such a high and international level.
No doubt Goody was well out of order for her remarks but she does unfortunately define CHAV and now has to account for her remarks, poor lass. It's all pretty sad really IMO....

They used to show big brother over here too. Rather than that, we get Britney flashing her business all over the news...

I've not watched it either. Never have... nearest I got was at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast in Oz....where the Ozzie Big Brother house is/was. It was closed... funny thing was, my sis wasn't interested in it either...

My point exactly Ray & Gina! I don't watch Big Brother, not really interested. Worse happens everyday - in schools, in work, at home or at the pub, on the roads, rail or on the streets. People are people and folks deal with it, it's not such an issue. What I can't get my head round is why it's become such a major media, social and political event, what a waste of time, money and effort. Maybe it's best just to axe the program if it's causing so much unrest. Anyway rant over, who cares anyway and Janis Joplin did indeed rock, would be nice to turn the clock back 40 years IMO!

I didnt know they had this kind of crap on Britsh TV.
Most of whats shown in this country on BBC America is pretty good. Watched Hex last weekend, A little wierd but still more imaginative than anything the American networks put out.And the new Dr. Who series is great I like how they managed to keep the feel of the old series with Tom Baker,

has she been in anything else overthere?

Looks like it's heading that way...think they're generally running out of ideas or repeats...
I haven't managed to see any of the new Dr. Who series yet although have heard a lot of good reviews.
There's still some decent stuff on TV here but there again there's a lot of dross IMO, you've got to keep a watch out for the good stuff. I tend to spend more time on the PC these days than watch the TV, more interactive, more choice and less mind numbing IMO.
Don't know much about Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) to be honest apart from that she was with Chris Evans for a while and has starred in the odd period drama. I agree she's a honey though

Joplin? I cant stand to hear her screeching and screaming, I fail to find what was ever so special about her. True artistry is in special ones like Ella, Anita O'Day, Sarah Vaughn, June Christy, Blosson Dearie, Annie Ross, and nowadays with Roberta Gamborini.
