I am trying to install Drag Specialties bar end turn signals on the stock handlebars of my speedmaster and I am not sure how to get the endcap anchors out of the stock bars.
Any suggestions??

Use a metric allen wrench to remove the small screw on the end of caps.If you need the metric size let me know and I'll go check.

They might require some heat on the bolt. Mine came right out but others have reported stripping the heads trying.

If you're referring to the anchors inside the bars, and I'm assuming the SM bars have the same set up as the America bars, they are either welded in or crimped in place. I have yet to read on here where anyone has had any success removing them by any non-destructive method. You could try drilling them out, perhaps with increasing sized bits.
Whatever you find, please let us know......

You could always try to POUND them IN...... Grump is right, they are either welded or pressed in so some force will be required.

Thanks for your input. That is exactly what I was talking about. I thought about drilling them out and tapping them to match the treads of the bar end markers. Or maybe I will try drilling them out and using the new ones they supplied. I was only trying to see if anyone else had done this without changing / modifying the stock anchors and what they did to make the bar end marker lights work with the stock speedmaster bars.
Any other ideas are welcome.

You could always pop for a pair of these..... Click Here That way you wouldn't have to mess up your stockers.

That's a good idea. I might look into that option.

Matt, I have aftermarket bars, and NEED some endcap plugs! So hey, if you go the drilling route, let me know I'll take those other plugs off your hands I have seen bars where that part was drilled out, pretty sure those plugs are tach welded or pressed in. Drilling/re-tapping should be easy tho.

Not sure which route I am going to take at this time, but I'll let you know if I have the new set left over after the mod.

Thanks Do whatever works best, and even if you just took a picture of the plugs, or if anyone knows where else to find them, that would be great for me.

Not sure which way I am going to go with this. I will let you know if I have the new set available once I am done with the mod.

Sorry about that double post. The anchors I have are different than what is in your pic. Sorry

Nah the ones in the pic were just the first thing I found doing a google search, but gave me ideas for looking locally. I'm still curious what the ones you have are. What kind of mirrors are they? Maybe I can look up the part online.

This is not for mirrors. I am removing my front turn signals and putting on bar end marker lights.

Well you can drill out your triple tree so the Harley bolts will fit. Just get a bit that's slightly larger than 1/2 inch. I used one that's 9/16.

Thanks! I think I know how I'll handle it. I need some pliable rubber sleeves like that, then pretty much any bolt and a T nut on the end will compress it and squeeze it out.
