I am installing the Triumph factory Footboards for my '06 BA. I got them first in early December on-line and when I received them and went to install them, something looked weird, the rightside plate looked exactly like the leftside plate, didn't think anything of it but when the rightside went on, it seemed to be 'up front' too far and my brakearm hit the inside of the plate. I sent them back and just received a new pair (in the original Triumph factory box) and recieved the same thing this time. The parts list on the side of the box lists the part numbers as left (A9730506) and right (A9730505) but the D#$%^M plates look the same to me! The instructions state that the mounting brackets are forward of center, which makes sense to me, but seemingly having two 'leftside' footboards, when I have the rightside on, it is 'back of center', pushing the board up. Anybody run across this? I'm about to break out the grinder! Thanks

I had no problems installing my boards, if I recall the left side replacement plate is smaller than the right. Parts list underneath
Remembered I scanned this in for Gina...

Looking at your footboards mounted on the bike, are they even with each other at the front? Also, where is your foot brake (pedal) relative to the front of the board?
Thanks

yes, i received two "left" boards as did at least one other person on the site. this was through coweta custom cycles. becky at coweta was very helpful (and quick) in getting it rectified. the boards are identical but should be opposites. when you hold the flat sides together and look underneath the brackets should line up exactly. btw, if you mount the boards 'backwards' you get a little more leg room.

Have you got the 'rocker' gear change lever as well? Do the footboards make it as awkward to pull up the stand as the rocker gear lever does?
If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Thanks, I got mine off of eBay, but from a dealer, they agreed to replacement and pay shipping and they have good communication. I held mine together and they do not line up , Two lefts as I see it. Looks like I'll have to ship them back again. I have dealt with Becky on other items, nice folk and products both. Thanks Kevin

I looked into getting the 'toe/heal' shifter, may have to wait until my money tree blooms this Spring!

I put my boards on backwards and except for them now saying "hpmuirT", I'm quite happy with the increased legroom.

Have any trouble with the brake arm hitting the footboard?

not me. or not that i've noticed. the boards will stick out even with the headers, if that's an aesthetic concern.

My board kit came with two right sides. Pitiful for $315.00. My dealer got me the other board in a few days, but not in time for an 1100 mile trip. Bummer that their QC is non existant on the floorboard kits, but I really like riding with them and don't think I'll be going back to the Kuryakin (sp) pegs. I shimmed the boards with nylon, stainless flat and lock washers to take the slop out of the fit.

Don't really know what all the fuss is about, one left, one right, right? or is that left?

Received the correct foot board today. Installed just like the instructions said they should!
All I need now is at least an above 50 degree day The old bones don't stay warm like they use to

I really like mine and got to use them on Sat in Richmond. It got close to 50 and was a big improvement vs my trip to Pittsburgh where it was single digits. I see where you wanted to take the slop out of the Floorboards. I think you may regret it if you lean too much in a tight turn. They are made to give and not vibrate with the nylon washers provided. If they don't kick up, the rear of the bike can kick out and dump you. Am I following what you are taking the slop out of?

I guess it depends on what exhaust you're running, but since I put the boards on backwards, my TBike mufflers hit before the footboards scrape. Not a good thing... so I have learned to resist those urges to lay it over in the twisties.

Saturday was in the upper 50's, had to test them out. Put 25 miles or so on. I think I'll like them, seems to be more 'fluid' or something. Feel to be 'at one' with the bike more? Comfortable, knees a little higher up. Might be time for highway bars
