I know that this'll probably get moved, but for maximum exposer I'm posting it here. I needed to replace my battery and after calling around I got some prices. My dealer wants $79, another bike shop near me wants $60, and Sam's warehouse wants $20-$40. So I go to Sam's and get a new battery, cost $20, and hand in the old one. I check it all out and size wise it was the same (they didn't have any books to look it up). I get it home pour the acid in and charge it up. Sat. I went to put it in and it don't fit. ARGGGH Although it was the same size I didn't notice that the stock one had a notch in the top. The new one won't fit under the bracket, no notch. So now I'm stuck. Can anyone give me the model number of the stock battery or any that will fit so I can try and find one. Although I do try to support my dealer $79 for a battery seems high. But then again if it's my only option then I have no choice. I am in desperate need of help here.

Yeah Benny if you have it that would be great. It'll give me something to cross reverence.

Am I being too cheap or is that the going price ($79) for a replacement battery?

I bought my replacement battery from Brent after looking around. His shipped price was cheaper than I found elsewhere and it helped support one of the good guys!

It's a lot of dough, but aparently that's the going rate. Like Phil said, Brent has one for a little cheaper, 60 I think. My batter, which I coughed up 80 bills for at a dealer, says YTX12-BS on it. Hope that helps!!

P.S. checking that was so much easier without a side cover:)

Another caveat when buying aftermarket batteries - the size may be correct, but the posts may be reversed! Don't ask how I found this one out........

Odyssey Drycell I son't have experience with this one, but if it's good enough for the CHP, it ought to work for you. Even at $117, if it's the last battery you have to buy, it's a bargain.
