I knew with Gengras Triumph opening up 20 mins from where I live. And 15 min from where I work it was only matter of time before more Triumphs started turning up around here.
Today at work I spent 15 minutes answering Triumph questions to a guy thinking about the Tiger, He has set up an "appointment" to check one out Saturday, No you dont need an appointment. Its just the way he does things.
Not an hour later one of our maintanace guys walks buy wearing a Rocket III shirt. Last I knew he was riding a 1980 somthing Goldwing and wearing Harley T-shirts. I know he's been bike shopping but dont know if he got the bike or just the shirt.
Yep just a matter of time ......they'll be everywhere.

No such problem here, the nearest dealer is over 200 miles away.

Was standing on a street corner yesterday waiting for the Harley we were riding with to circle back and pick up his dropped right mirror. Don't ask. Lo and behold, a green and silver tba with a flyscreen cruised right before my eyes. Had never seen that bike in town before yesterday.

I see my share of Bonnies and the occasional Speed Trip, but I've only seen one America and a Rocket here in B-more. So far, my Speedy's the only one I've seen.

I see a lot of Triumphs being ridden by folks that are not on the internet here or at the RAT site.
About a year ago I predicted to a friend that Triumph is really going to start taking off. They make a great looking and great running bike!
Sales in 2006 were up worldwide by what, 18%? That's darn good. And more Triumphs will mean more like-minded riders and better yet more demand for aftermarket bling for our bikes.

I complained when I saw another America at Asda...WalMart or whatever you wanna call it. If I wasn't doing other stuff I'd go off and find the thread where I did.
I'm happy being the only one round here.... I don't want to be the same as everyone else.
And yet, I live a mile from the nearest dealer. But they sell Honda, Yamaha, and others. They just don't seem to push the Triumph side of things. Which narks me at times, but at others, I'm happy over.

There are quite a few triumphs up here in New England. There is even an identical color/year/pipe speedy the next town over. We both did a double take and immediate U turn the 1st time we passed each other. On the other hand it does kind of stink that my uniqueness is dwindling. A woman showed up on club ride with a BA, that was cool. Then she couldn't ride and everyone figured I had invited her cause it was a weird bike like mine.

Trumps are still a unique commodity in these parts of Southern Az.
The local dealer is out of the way on a frontage road and his sales are mostly Kawasaki's and ATV. Most people around here dont even realize they have other options besides Hardleys, Kawasakis, Suzukis, Hondas and Yamahammers.

The problem is Triumph could grow by 100% the next 5 years and we still wouldn't come close to the Jap bikes or You Know Who. That's fine with me-I prefer being unique.

Weird?! WEIRD???!!!
Listen you Yute.... Now you MAY know the history and all the affiliated minutiae about that beautiful state of your's, New Hamshire....BUT, these TRIUMPHS are NOT intrinsically "weird", per se!!!
UNIQUE, young man! Let's stick with THAT word, OKAY?!

There are only 2 dealers in the whole state of OK. 1 in OK City and 1 in Tulsa, so Triumphs are still relatively unique. I think the better of the two dealers is in OKC. It is an exclusive Triumph dealer, where the one here does several European brands.

don't run into a lot of triumps in wis. but you have to smile when you do. If they get as thick as the HD population I would have to spend more money on mods to be more unique.

Yea....we always see plenty of Hardley Davidsonian type bikes with MODS but they blend into the grand mediocrity that is now so lesser ennobled by Hardely Davidsons continuing sales growth.
Its hard to stand out in a crowd even with major modifications to your Hardly cause theres another one next door.
Good for Hardly stock owners and investors but otherwise mundane.
I do find a large pack of Hardleys riding as a group to be impressive though. Lots of noise and visceral impact. But they aint pretty like a Speedmaster all clean and shiny even with minimal mods!

In Northwest Alabama it's just me and a RocketIII, both of us named Dennis and a '99 Legend belonging to Steve. There is one T100 ridden by a ghost rider. I've seen him twice, both times he was moving in a direction I couldn't get to quick enough to catch up with him. We know he's an older fellow on a fine looking blue & white Bonneville. One day, I'll get to meet him.

follow up to my original post:
Tracked down the guy with the R3 shirt today.Asked if he bought a Rocket..No but he did buy an 06 Yamaha last week. I resisted urge to ask "So why the f you walking around with a Triumph T-shirt"...I figured answer would be same as why he wore Harley shirts when he was riding the Goldwing.

There is no Triumph dealers here in Louisiana and I rarely see any Triumph motorcycles. Went to a bike night about a month ago and saw a Bonneville to my surprise. Tried to find the rider but with a couple of hundred bikes and more people I didn't get to meet him or her. I did meet a guy at the gas station while filling up on a rocket and we talked a bit. The nearest dealer is about 1 1/2 hour drive in Mississippi. The owner seems like a nice guy and tell me that they are around I just don't see them. I need to make the trip on thursday if my part come in but the weather will not be so great to ride my America. I have been on several poker runs and still the only Triumph. I know they are out there hopefully I will find a Triumph rider. Of course the uniqueness is what led me to buy a Triumph in the first place. Seems everyone has harleys, goldwings etc but I am more than happy with my purchase and do not regret it for a minute.

It's a big biker area round here. I have my theories as to why, but no real reasons. But no, not many Triumphs. And very few Americas. But really I'm happy like that.

Everywhere I turn they are here. I guess with the dealer being right in town adds to that. And the fact that this has always been serious Brit Iron country, many Brits settled here and Triumphs are found in many many garages. I remember when I was yute and just starting to ride, there were at least 4 Triumph dealers within 25 miles and almost everyone I knew rode Trumps, BSAs or Nortons.
