Well I finally decided to remove the baffles on my speacialty spares long slash cut pipes. Kind of bumped the starter not trying to actually start it (since its 2 a.m and i'm in the garage under my sleeping wife and kids bedroom) but just want hear a few thumps. ahh...sounds like hitting the side of a 55 gallon barrel with baseball bats. ARRgggg!! Gooch want more of this! So the next day I fire it up and it sounds like hells fury has been unleashed on my quiet neighborhood! I can hear it echo off the walls of the houses. God it sounds so good...deep and resonant at idle and aggressive like nothing you've ever heard when going through the gears.A herd of Harley dudes at the Dairy Mart turned in unison as I cruised by and took notice but were not be able to comprehend that which they had just witnessed. Got several "Rock ON" gestures while going through the traffic lights - one fellow actually opened his sliding back window and stuck his arm out to give his hand gesture. Pretty cool but I dont think I can hold up under this new found celebrity attention so the baffles go back in, but the glass wrap traps a lot of moisture and rust so it comes off.

Haha, I like it Gooch! I have Thunderpipes on mine which also have removable baffles, but so far haven't uncorked them. Might have to try that. Lets see, it's 5:45am here, hmmmmm, me thinks it's time everyone else gets up too...

Thunderpipes, 135 mains, TBS needles, snorkel & AI removed

2 AM, man you got balls! I pulled mine (the baffles that is) out one night last week. "Waking the dead" is a good analogy! All the neighbors were out and I got some serious disapproving looks from everyone I idled past. Took off aggresively from my hot-rod buddies house a few street over and the wife heard me with our windows up. She wasn't too pleased so I popped them back in, I'm sure the neighbors appreciated that gesture as well.

It's really amazing how much noise those things put out. They really are cannons and you can literally hear each piston fire. I've had the bike started with no mufflers and with the hollow metal tubes, the bike is actually louder. I guess those tubes just become big echo chambers. If I ever go on a ride with just my HD buddies, I'll pull them out for giggles.
