So, when you are passing a great arsed lorry and need a few extra MPH, the crown will see to it that you die "for queen and country"?

That's about the scale of it!

I believe that the idea for these originated in the EU (another reason for me to dislike it, not that I need another reason!) and they are being opposed by MAG (similar to ABATE) all the way. There is apparently one (unelected) politician who has floated the idea of an outright ban on bikes so that they can move even closer to their target of no road casualties!!

Has no-one told these people that life should have a bit of danger?

Are there a lot of "no cage involed" bike crashes in the UK?

Don't know the figures for this particular catagory, but when they released the overall traffic figures, it was found that speed was a factor in only 15% of cases. What they didn't say until pressed was that "over the limit" speeding occured in only 5%, the other 10% was still within the speed limit, but not appropriate for the conditions!

They have also just announced that the annual drink driving arrests for the holiday period (Christmas & New Year) has risen dramatically - don't suppose it has anything to do with the rise in speed cameras being matched with a reduction in traffic cops, so more people think they can get away with it?
