Right, it's pretty soft metal like Trash says. I took mine out with 1/4" hex head sheet metal screws. That allowed me to use a 1/4" drive ratchet and socket to drive the screw into the plug. It took a couple tries, but it works. There is also (at least there was on mine) a small dimple in the center of each plug, making it easier to get the screw started. Use a small mirror and flashlight to check out your "targets" from under the carbs.
