I got to see the new Tiger last weekend. I will say this about it. It's a motorcycle. Just looking at it, really nothing about it makes me say wow in any way at all.

There is an aricle in the lastest Motorcyclist about it. They really liked it.

BTW... My dealer also has the new America in (no Speedies yet), and those wheels have got to go.

Well, I almost handed over a $500 deposit to my local dealer for a '07 Tiger over the Holidays...then common sense took over and said I ought to at least see one first!!

I think that is a smart decision...gives more time for the other new Triumphs ( gee wonder what those might be? ) to be announced this year.

The Tiger has always been the least of may favorites. For no other reason than their pupose build stance and height - Oh, and I always thought those old painted stripes made it look like it was a giant fishing lure. However, I will say the changes made to the latest model are much more eye catching - and the stripes are gone - Amen. I really have nothing bad to say for it, except that I need a ladder to get on one and I have to be moving to keep it upright. I think it is an especially good choice for those into that type of riding and the stature to ride it comfortably.

I love the new Tiger. I like that its tall in the saddle. I am tempted to trade in the BA for one, but I would rather have both!

i realy dont like the looks of the tiger but i herd that they are realy fun to ride my buddy just got a 07 i hope he lets me ride it

I rode a demo Tiger last year at Manayunk Triumph. I'm 6'-3", so the height was just perfect for me. Speedy is a bit small for me, but I just plain love the bike and will probably keep it forever. I would like to add another bike for longer trips/touring. The Tiger was a lot of fun to ride and seemed like it would be very comfortable over a really long trip. On the same day I rode the Tiger, I took a ride on my buddy's BMW GS 1200. My impression was that either would be fine, but the GS is about $5k more just to get shaft drive, a gear indicator and a fuel guage. The powerband on the GS is a little quirky, but that is typical for BMW. I'm probably leaning more towards a sport tourer: MotoGuzzi Norge, FJR, ST1300 or Kawi Concours. All I have to do is figure out how to pay for one...

I really like the tiger but not for its looks. The new one is certainly far better looking than the previous versions but they are great all around bikes, which I am in the market for. I want a bike that has the legs and ergos similar to a dirtbike but sport type handling. I have been looking at adventure bikes but I doubt I will utlize any offroad abilities. So the tiger may be in my future.

I rode the old Tiger, it was perfect for riding position and comfort. Felt pretty quick to me. This new one looks 10 times sharper (the fishing lure reference on the previous model was spot-on). If I was going to get another bike, the new Tiger would defintitely make the short list, probably just ahead of a Speed Triple. (it would be much more versatile) The only thing lacking is it doesn't appear to offer much passenger accomodations.

Guess I'll have to settle for that new Kawasaki ZX14 Sport-tourer....that thing looks awesome.

I love the new Tiger. I did ride an '04 model and almost fell over twice when stopping. I forgot about the 33 inch seat height with my 31" inseam. Anyway, the Tiger was a blast to ride and I'd love to have one with a 3" lowering kit. A great competitor for the Tiger is the Suzuki V-Strom
650\1000. The Vstrom is set up for serious touring. I read an article by a lifetime long distance rider who spent 25 years with BMWs. He stated that his new Vstrom made him realize how much time he spent in hotels waiting for BMW parts to arrive. He loves the Suzuki and now swears by it.
Both bike are unattractive, but very functional.
