You will love Tahoe. We spent a week there on our honeymoon after getting married at the chapel in Yosemite Park. Been back several times, and actually got out and did some things. Skiing is great, and the views are incredible. As far as the games this weekend, every place I've stayed there has television/cable/satellite. If you wear overalls, everyone will leave you alone.
