Hi ppl, new to this but willing to give it a go, I'm wondering if anyone has changed their rear guard, and if so, I'm wondering if the adventurer guard will actually fit, as it is the type I'm looking to go to, ok so it may be a dumb idea, but, its mine. ty in advance Paul

The flip up bobtail would look nice. I dont know if it will fit, but can imagine the nice look it would offer.

Well, Euroshop put Harley-style fenders on an America. Doesn't look like they had a hard time with it - even used the stock fender struts. Matching the width is probably the biggest issue. http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/photopo...=500&page=1

I wonder how fiberglass would work for a rear fender? It seems to me you could cast a mould from an existing fender, lay up some fiberglass, and get and exact replica. You might have to make it thick for strength, and clearance might be an issue. Maybe you could embed some steel stiffeners for strenth. Has anyone tried this?

That would have to be some thick fiberglass if you ever wanted to have someone ride on the back.

I did this years ago on a couple of bikes. The secret was to have steel plates in either side where it bolts to the struts, with reinforcing rods shaped to support inside the fender - doubling them for the seat mountings
