Got a pair of risers for Christmas from the wife. Thanks Brent! Slapped those puppies on the bike this morning, and "wow". This may be my favorite mod. I had the stock bars with Jim's spacers; and while they were an improvement, I would still get shoulder trouble. After riding around this morning, I believe these risers are as close to a buckhorn setup in comfort that I can get without going for the horns. I highly recommend them. The quality and look are also great.
No, there will be no pictures until after the Florida Rally. Got some other changes to make before Georgia.

Ryan, did you have to re-route the existing cables to have enough slack? Do the bars touch the tank at full turn? And one last question, how tall are you?

Bob I also got a set for Christmas. I had to move the cables around a little and loosen my rt. grip assembly, rotate it slightly, and slide it up the bar about 1/4". When I turn my bars to the right, it does pull on the throttle cable: engine revs a little. To the right, it misses the tank by about 1/8'. All the way to lock to the left, it's really close, but doesn't quite hit. I'd like to readjust things so it won't rev at lock on the right. I'd welcome any advice.

I will need new cables soon. If I get the Rivco risers, would two inches over stock be long enough for the clutch/throttle cables?

If you're still using stock bars,I think 2" would be plenty. I think others have used the risers with no problems. One of my issues is that I have a Triumph windshield, and the brace is right in the path of the cables. I also have my bars rotated down slightly, which I find impoves my comfort on longer rides.

I too have these risers. Big change in seat comfort as well. My cables are a bit tight around the neck but no revs. I thought about rerouting the cable to the right side but seems to work out for now. So 2" would work great. That brace is also in the way like "ozz" says. I just messed around with the cables under the tank and around the neck to get the shortest route in the stock set up. They are tight though and one of the cables has a stress crack. The bars are generally not turned excessively to the right anyway so I am not concerned. I just love these puppies.

I am approx. 5'10 1/2.
I haven't seen any issues with the cables and wires, though I didn't have trouble with the spacers either.
I too will be getting new cables soon.

Hi Bob,
Others have mentioned it, but moving the throttle cables to the right side of the top tube will afford lots of extra length. I moved mine years ago with no ill effects.
If I think about it, I'll snap some pics of Ryan's ride today.

Thanks for the answers, Moe, et.al. I think the rivco risers look great and had heard that re-routing the cables eliminated the tight fit. I was curious if there were any other problems using or mounting.

Well I rode to Daytona yesterday afternoon and on the way back stopped by the Meyer’s to say hello and maybe help him prevent a repeat of the Dink saga of lost beers and a battery from happening again.
Snapped some photos of Ryan's risers. They are sweet. Remember, chrome doesn’t photograph well. I'll let Ryan comment on these.
Lastly the touch of modifications.

The risers look great. Which end would be the easiest to disconnect to re-route the cables around the center post?

Bob, I have never disconnected from the throttle sleeve side, always from the carb side. However, being as how you have to reroute the cables, which requires access to where they are now, you'll have to remove the petrol tank anyway. So disconnecting the throttle cables from the carbs is in your face, so to say.
OEM Throttle cable route:
Notice the carb ends dangling.
Throttle cables after re-routing.
Note: Ryan has not re-routed his throttle cables. Edited: Yes he has...

Do the risers make contact on a tight turn with the Console?

Wanna bet!!!!
Easily enough stock throttle cable after re-routing. All other cables are fine. I disconnected from the throttle to re-route. You will need to loosen the master cylinder clamp to remove the cable. In hindsight, removing from the carb side is a good idea. I had already been inside the sleeve to put in my ISO grips, so it wasn't that huge a deal. Crouching is harder on my back than standing straight over the bars, hence my decision to work on the bar end.
