Oh boy. I wish i could type as fast as i think. So much to say.
So. If a sport bike rider is charging through the country side, getting his knee down in the corners then hes a moron and shouldn't be so stupid on public roads. But, when someone on here tells us how he/she went riding through the twisties and managed to scrape the pegs in the corners. Well thats OK and is something to be celebrated.
Watch the video again, those two bikes are nowhere near 10/10ths in the corners, those two bikes can take a lot more than those two riders are giving it. Grind your pegs on our TBAs and we are right on the edge. Push a little harded and we're tasting the gravel.
So what about the Public Roads arguement. Well if these guys were blasting through city streets, past school zones and the rest of it then yes i would be with you. But there not, they're out in the country side where there is little traffic. I did think they sped through a few intersections a bit fast, but all in all i didnt see to much wrong with what they were doing. If i had those bikes and lived where they were i would be doing the same thing. As would most red blooded motorcycle riders (if they were to be honest).
And as for the innocent bystanders, ie, the bycle riders. Well i think they were far more at risk at being hit by some old coger driving his RV through those mountain passes then ever being hit by a speeding motorcycle.
So they should save this style of riding for the track where they and everyone else would be safer. Well of course that is true, BUT. Isnt that what the anti motorcycle people claim. That what we do is dangerous and it should be banned. Come on people, riding motorcycles is dangerous, each and everyone of us run the risk of getting hurt everytime we through our legs over the bike and head out onto the road. Maybe we should all just give up riding....just in case we hurt ourselves.
These guys are living their lives the way they choose. maybe a bit closer to the edge than what i want to, but good for them. We are a long time dead, so lets enjoy life while we are here.
