A month or so back, there was a thread (which I can't find to attach this) concerning Buddy Guy's new boxed set. I was fortunate enough to receive it as a Christmas gift from my daughters. Let me say this thing is fantastic. Not only is there 3 discs of great blues, but also there is a DVD that documents Buddy's journey from share cropping to stardom. The DVD alone is worth the price. If you love the blues and if you haven't got it – You're missing a gem.

Well, Steve. You know what they say, "Opinions are Like arseholes, everyone has one."
Actually, Matt's opinion is as worthy as mine or anyone else's. I can live with that. I still love this CD though and I actually don't care much if Mr. Guy is or isn't an arsehole. Lord knows the entertainment industry is full of them. It usually doesn't make them any less entertaining. And whenever I've bought or recieved a CD, I've never done it for friendship.

Maybe one should have to qualify that statement, otherwise it stands as a completely offensive remark in a otherwise nice thread. Actually, it seems to try to hijack it.

I'll have to check that out! I'm sure we'd all be surprised to see what some of our favorite entertainers are like in person...
Another great box set in a similar format (3 CDs and 1 DVD) is the Stevie Ray Vaughan one. I have that. Good stuff!

My buddy got it, so that means I'll be able to borrow it! From the other Buddy Guy thread, we are going to see him in Philly later this year. The legends are dropping off too fast to pass on a chance.

Here's the Original Buddy Guy Thread. I met the man years back in his Legends Club on Wabash Ave in Chicago. I don't remember who my brother and I went to see that night, but I do remember Buddy "appeared" to be a very nice guy. This was back in his "gerry curl" days. He bought me a beer and didn't seem to mind the intrusion. Not sure what we chatted about, blues in general I think, but I do remember him being much shorter than I thought he was. Strange what you recall. Regards, Tom
