My fav is the Triumph Classic leather jacket. No longer in the catalog, it is on the rack at British-USA, in several sizes. May still be available elsewhere, but I have not searched for a pic.
Shoulder, elbow and back protection, all removable. The jacket is longer than waste length, with a tall stand-up collar. I bought the Triumph Fleece neck warmer and it keeps me toasty. The jacket is almost "dressy", and no one even suspects it has armor in it.
I hate putting it up in the late Spring, and love getting it back out in the early Fall.
The armor is totally non-intrusive. The only draw back I can think of, is packability, and then only if way too warm in the daytime to wear it. Happens here alot, though the same morning or night it could be plenty comfortable. I have folded it and strapped it onto the rear fender under a duffle.
For the $280 I gave for it, I could not pass it up. British-USA sells everything for a lot more than that normally - even jackets listing on the Triumph site for a lot less. I wasn't looking for this style at the time - liked the Triumph Bomber a lot more (another fine choice they discontinued). But I am very happy I took it then.
The Classic is satin lined only, with no thermal liner. It is roomy enough to layer well beneath it though.
