Mike, the Frank Thomas outfit I have is absolutely the best thing I have bought for my bike. The Jacket is advertised as a 3 in 1. It is water proof, has armor, bright colors, reflective logos and piping. But the best part about it is the Inner jacket and this thing that comes with it that you ware around you neck and lower jaw area. The inner jacket can be worn by it’s self and even has places for the armor! So you can ride with the both jackets and when the day warms up, you just change over the armor into the lighter jacket. However, there is much less protection from the inner jacket. I really don’t know how cold it would have to be for me not to ride. I have ridden in 35F and I was very comfortable. I haven’t checked the waterproof part yet and it is very heavy jacket.

The pant also has the armor and basic same features as the jacket. This link below has the same name but my pant has pockets like cargo pants. Maybe this is the 07 line up.

I don’t like the cruiser look and I don’t try look like something I am not. I guess when I buy gear, I look for what gives me the most protection, visibility and comfort. However, I agree that leather is the best when it comes to protection and I will eventually find a leather jacket that suits my taste. But for cold weather riding, I really like this outfit. Dean
