It occurs to me that "buttbuffer review" is a weird subject line. Hokay, it's about seats. Last Fall, Grump posted a thread and mentioned he was thinking about having Buttbuffer work over his stock seat. Well, I took the plunge.

Here's what I got for my $140. The seat came back lookin just like the stocker but they had installed their pad. I've put several hundred miles on the seat since then and, in a word, it's good! WAAAAY better than stock.

Long rides, little pain. Short rides, no pain. I didn't have them do the pillion. If I had the whole thing would have cost around $230 - $250.

If you're lookin, here's the addy: http://www.buttbuffer.com/

Good people. Good product.

Thanks Grump!

Roadie, what was the turnaround time to get it done. Sounds good...

roadie,

I'm real glad it worked for you. Another member didn't like it at all.
I bought a spare solo seat (since sold) with the idea of sending it to them, but after the bad review I canned that idea and bought a Corbin instead....

Hi Bayern - They were all headed off to Daytona (Bike Week), so it was in and out in a week. Given the circumstances, I guess I don't know about the normal turn around time...

I'm concerned about Grump's comments - somebody apparently gave them a bad review. If you're interested, I'd give 'em a call and see what you think.

Think they could do the job on a Speedy saddle?

I had my solo seat and pilion pad done this winter and just went on the longest ride (couple hours) that I've been on since I got the seat back and have to agree with roadie - it was great! No pain or discomfort whatever, where before I was feeling it after about an hour. I guess it's different strokes for different folks but I really like mine and recommend you give it a try. Beats the price of a Corbin by half or more.

As far as turnaround time, it was very quick - they returned it on the 3rd day after it arrived. Just make sure to ask them for the correct address (they have two) because one goes to the post office (PO Box I think) which they only check a couple times a week.

They had excellent customer service as well, hard to find sometimes.

Mark,
I was thinking it was you who had the bad experience! Must have been another "Mark" on here.... or else that brain cell died an unnatural death...

Thanks Mark, sounds like I've got to find a way to do this before my big trip this summer, but $140 is pretty cheap, you're right!

Hi Blackdog! I'd give Peter a call at Buttbuffer - (866) 859-5699 - toll free. My guess is they could get it done no problem.
