I was up there this summer there are a lot of gaps between stations. Carry extra, especially if you go above fairbanks, the steese is long with 2 gas stations on it. If you have never traveled outside the eastern seaboard the gaps seem even longer.
If you are interested I have friends in Anchorage that rent an RV, could be a good way to see the sights with the wife.
