pipedr I thought I was the only one in the world who thought Celebrate Me Home by Loggins was a Christmas song. His best album by the way. Your choices are great. I wouild add Ludwig Van"s Ode to Joy. preferably sang in German.

favorite non religous Christmas song would have to be EL&P "I Believe in Father Christmas"
Favorite religuos Christmas song would be toss up betwieen.
"What Child is This" and "O Come Come Emanuel"
Sung by any choir.

I heard the album on XM's Eddie Trunk show this past week. Not too bad, surprisingly, but I still miss Dee Snider....

If you enjoy rock guitar, Merry Axemas is fantastic. In fact, I just ordered Volume 2 from Amazon. Ted Nugent does Christmas, yeah, have to have that in the collection. Other favorites are Brian Setzers "Boogie Woogie Christmas" and Alligator Records blues Christmas album. My wife plays Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Christmas album until I'm ready to puke. We broke out some old family VCR tapes last night. Christmas 1988 and what's playing in the background? Yep, the wife beater and that top-heavy blonde.

Silent Night, led by a choir, sung at midnight service, in a dark church illuminated only with a candle on the altar. Stills and opens my soul.

It's better than sunshine,
It's better than moonshine,
****** sure better than rain."

You're wrong on that part MAC - You and I are the only two who KNOW it is a Christmas song. You are correct on the 'Ode to Joy'. It would mos def be on my Top 10.

Downloaded Christmas With The Rat Pack the other day and right now I'm listening to Dean Martin singing Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
Runner up on that same album is Frank doing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

Derek, Good one. How could I have forgotten Dino's 'Let it Snow'. That's one of those numbers that when someone brings it up, you can hear his voice in your mind just as though it was being sung. Ol' Dino - The true definition of a crooner.

Well you're all wrong! No Christmas list could ever exclude Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and the late Kirsty McColl. Merry Christmas all.

I saw momy kissing Santa Claus....Pete Fountain
It's from the "A Creole Christmas" album. Mostly all classic songs done with a little more feeling. My absolute most favorite Christmas album I've ever bought. If you can find it - buy it! Aaron Neville, The Dixie Cups, Dr. John, Irma Thomas, etc.
Second thought, my favorite song is: Merry Christmas, Baby........Dr. John
Listening to that CD on Christmas Eve and all done. Boy, life is great.
