Also, and I've mentioned this before, there must be an intermediate circuit in these carbs somewhere. Enriching all the other circuits and not that one will give the result talked about here: a slight hesitation. Too low a float level setting will do that, too.

Guess I'd better get serious about looking at this carb from a design standpoint, that is, check out a cut-away drawing or something similar.

One last item on this hesitation business: something we have no controll over, but nonetheless affects acceleration, is spark timing. Advancing the spark timing helps! Maybe that trick of disconnecting the throttle position switch and locking it "open" should be done.
