Al you'll find the visor to have a nice heavy notch action to it when lifting which is good cause the wind won't open it by accident!

24 1/2. Is this a contest, do I win anything? Well, at any rate nobody wants to borrow my helmets. We're down to comparing head sizes, a sure sign of January. I was looking at the scorpion page, those helmets look alright.

As Benny mentioned, you can lift the visor and it has about five stop positions in which it stays put. The first position creates about a 2 inch gap.

Love mine. I use it all winter- were in TX. One of the many great features is it come with a fog coating on the shield for no extra charge.

Wondered if that was effective or just a marketing gimmick. Ordered a 2nd smoke colored shield as well. Hopefully when it arrives, the weather will cooperate for some cold weather testing.

I have a hard time figuring if the shield fogs or my sunglasses do

I've had some occasions where I'm sitting at a long light and it fogs a little at the bottom. I crack the visor open to the first stop and it usally clears right up. It never fogs when I'm moving.

Same here. I only wish the first detent in the shield was lower. Sometimes I'd like about half that crack when it is cold, ya know? Like just a finger width.

Helmet came last week and I took it for a short test ride this afternoon. Temps at 40 degrees here and windy, but the sun was shining.
First impression is wow, the field of vision is excellent. I had worn an old full-face helmet on occasion but always felt a bit constricted. All I see is shield with the Scorpion, no sides are visible. This thing will be great in the wamer temps with the visor and some glasses.

Of course, now that my ears are covered, it is infinitely warmer than my skid-lid or DOT half-helmet.

Sunglasses are a tight fit now, but I suspect it will relax some.

Fits great on the Kury Kewlock. I have to get used to not handling a helmet so carelessly. I hate to bang up this thing.

I think this was a good move and of course I'll be 10 times less vunerable. Thanks for the tips & advice. If anyone is considering a Scorpion lid, I give it a thumbs up.

I find (being a 90% full face user) that sunglasses with plastic frames, the thin side pieces, slide in nicely. As opposed to wire frame or the kind with weirdly shaped side pieces. What are they called?

For instance, NOT this kind...

But more like this. Except maybe not ugly Just what I could find for pics easily.

Yeah, my Smith plastic frames are somewhere in the middle. Plastic, but with rubber boots on the temples that stick.

Yeah I guess what I mean is thin but wide is good, ya know? I think the WileyX brand is like that mostly. I also found some good ones at a generic bike shop that were in the $40 range. Just above cheap, but might last a bit...

The weather finally cooperated for a short ride yesterday with the new Scorpion lid. Man, I love this helmet. Full coverage shield and a completly unobstructed view. This thing is going to be great for all times other than steamy summer hot weather. The muffled sounds of the bike is a bit odd, but my ears sure were comfy warm.

Smelled like that at the shop when I tried it on. I thought maybe it was just really tight and was pinching a nerve somewhere

Just broke mine out for a whiff. That act drew some odd stares from the wife & daughter. Told'em it was a need to know basis and they ....

Verdict:
Mine smells decidingly neutral. I'm sure that will change over time, although the lining is washable.

I haven't figured out how to take my liner out, altho I haven't tried. The guy in the shop showed me a zebra pattern liner I could get
Of all the things my helmet COULD smell like, I'm not complaining.

Glad to hear you like the helmet.
My Nolan full face(flip-up) is to hot in the summer, and the HJC half lid I have is just to noisy. Even with ear plugs. Will probably order the Scorpion next month.
Just need to pick a color.
Speaking of taking a whiff, it's a good thing you bought a helmet and not a pair of ridding pants that smell like vanilla

vanilla pants wouldn't be THAT bad. They can get funky on a hot day
