I've been contemplating a new paint scheme since I put on the '60s style tank badge. After looking at a lot of photos of older Triumphs I finally settled on a design that is reminiscent of older Triumphs. Sames colors as before, just all new styling. Everything was repainted (finally got rid of a scratch on the rear fender, but kept it all black) including the side panel which now has "America" in real paint versus the sticker. This site always helps and in this case I was able to see some of those that have also repainted their TBAs and especially liked those that went with older styled paint schemes. Hopefully the weather will warm up soon. Steven

I was wondering if someone was going to ask. I will be able to post a photo of the side cover in a couple of days. Unfortunately, as I got the bits back home I noticed that name of the bike had been changed from "America" to "American". The side cover is back at the painter to get stripped and redone. Except for the extra letter, the side panel lettering look exactly like the original, but no sticker outline, etc....very nice work.
I'll post the side cover and a better overall photo once everything is back together.
Thanks all for the comments.

Very nice, and very retro with that paint scheme. Maybe you should look into getting some chrome front fender supports similar to the bonnes to compliment the look.

Sandmann, Are you talking about the bracket that that is used to hold the front fender? It is what connects the fender to the fork? Or are you talking about older fender supports that look like they were roundbar? Interesting ideas either way.
The great thing about this project is that it is currently 3 years of progress and I don't feel that I'm done yet. I don't want to radically change it from this style, but I do have a couple of things still on the list.
I really wish that there were clear lens for the stock turn signals. I don't mind at all the size or position of the front signals, but it would be nice to reduce the orange. So far I haven't seen any signal mods that I really like.
Anyway, thanks for comment/suggestion.

Looks real nice.
I like the smoky lenses that HDs have, I wonder if you could get a set of those to work.

As an update to my previous post, here are two more photos that show the bike from a different angle and a closeup of the hand painted side panel (no more sticker). Thanks again for all of the very nice comments. Steven

Steven, you did great! Sitting here looking at those pictures reminds me of why I bought my America. The paint job really brings out the lines of the Triumph!

I stand corected...those are the classic tank badges, not the eyebrow badges...at least according to the Triumph web site...

Pretty Bike, great job!
If all goes as planned I'll be painting mine in February. Red with black and silver flames. I think I should drop a second in in the quarter with the paint alone.
Seriously though, really beautiful.

Nice! I agree that most of the Meridan Triumph paint schemes would look great on our bikes. Yours is just more proof!
