Jumping in this conversation a little late but.... I just picked up the kury cap from newspeedmaster for my '06 speedy and as I was installing it I had a problem getting it on. I thought..I cant be this stupid as to not be able to put on a *ing gas cap can I?! I almost turned it hard thinking maybe it was stuck and then I remembered "Grab your junk in one hand and and twist harder with the other !" so I found this thread and re read it. I was a little worried but I really like this ****** cap so I wanted to give it another go. I too had a problem about a quarter turn into it, wouldn't go.. when I took the cap off I could see that it was trying to take some (not a lot) of the black paint off from around the threads. So I put a clean rag just ontop of the opening to the gas, cleaned a little of the paint shavings off with a rag and repeated that a few times, each time gently (by hand not a screw driver) getting closer and closer to screwing the cap down. The paint that was shaving off was only the black and none of the primer so I just kept going. Hopefully no long term effects, In just a few minutes ... wouldn't you know it worked!!!! If I hadn't re read this thread I surely would have either sent the thing back or kept pushing it harder and the thing would have broke just like newjerseywelsh's. Thanks for the tech tips!!! Who knew screwing and grabing your junk could make you this nervous!

Thanks!!
