I am looking for a new gas cap for my 05 BA ~~ I have seen what Brent has available. Any other ideas? Is there a gas cap available with the Union Jack?

I got mine from Brent, but it's actually a Kuryakyn part made for Harleys. There are probably others that would fit but I haven't seen anything flag oriented. Another plus to the Kuryakyn is that its vented and looks good on the bike.

Thanks for the response. I have seen the one on Brent's site at a couple of other sites. I will probably go with that. How hard was it to install? On a scale of 1 (being any idiot can do it ~~ for which I qualify) to 10 (being only a Triumph certified mechanic should attempt), how would you rate installation?

Will a different gas cap be easier to remove when a vacuum builds up in the tank? I have barely been able to get mine to turn sometimes.

On that scale I would rate this a -3...if you can open your current gas cap and put it back....you can install Brents...

Downside... You have to carry that "key/tool" with you. (to turn the cap)

The Kuryakyn that Brent sells (NewSpeedmaster.com) is vented and doesn't build up a vacuum. I got an extra key (at my local Harley dealership) and keep one attached to each set of my bike keys. Many just don't tighten it enough to use the key - I like the key concept.

If you have a 2006 SM you might want to check the thread on this site concerning the Kury gas cap not fitting the 2006 tank.
