The funny thing is I only wiped down that engine case prior to taking the photos. Not that the bike is overly dirty, but it could have used a wash - the pipes especially are pretty dirty. I was only going to be shooting that badge in detail, so I didn't bother to clean anything else.
The camera is an Olympus E-1 digital SLR, used a macro lens and wide-angle zoom for the shots.

You know Mr.Daniels....You REALLY have to get a grip on this Triumph "fixation" you seem to have.
(disregard the fact that this piece of advice has been offered by somebody sitting at his keyboard and presently wearing one of his SIX Triumph T-shirts at his disposal...."DO as I SAY, NOT as I DO", young man)
Cheers, Dwight (BTW...NICE pictures!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Nice photos Matt, you did choose the right one for the contest.
Like the light and composition of the photo and you got the depth of field perfect too!
Good luck in the contest!

I think submissions are allowed until Dec. 15, then voting happens in the following weeks. I probably won't know until January sometime. Of course, I don't actually win anything, other than recognition from my peers.

Figured I would give an update. My photo is one of the five finalist - now the members of the forums vote for the winner. I think voting goes until Jan 14th... Anyway, here is the URL where the five finalist are: http://community.automotivephoto.net/forums/showthread.php?p=4975#post4975BTW, if anybody wants a higher res version of one of these photos for a computer background, just let me know.

Awesome Matt! I would love a copy of that picture! If you could just send it to my email address. Hey, is there anyway we can secretly vote for you!
