Grassy yards around these parts are seldom seen. Not having to water is a great incentive in that regard.

You do see some grass in residential areas but not much.

Yep its a dry heat and its DRY. During a 65 mile PGR ride from Mesa out towards Roosevelt Lake in early August we had two riders drop out due to near heat exhaustion. Both individuals were older over weight fellas and the combination of high dry ambient temps and being "out of shape" and not drinking enough water got to them in a big way.

The wet season runs from typically anyime just afer the fourth of July and continues to around mid to late August.

During that time of year violent late afternoon thunderstorms can be prolific and very sudden sometimes combined with isolated high winds or violent "down bursts" that rival miniature tornadoes.
