I have the Signal Dynamics Backoff flasher unit running to an SG LED license plate frame (stock brake light is untouched). While it works quite well, I like the idea of the one Soren has better. When my rear brake light switch stuck, my license plate lights flashed constantly. Rather than just pull three screws and swap bulbs, I had to pull the license plate and swap wires around. I wired up the Backoff module with weatherproof blade connectors so I could pull the module out and restore regular brake light function to the license plate frame. But it's always a PITA to cram all the wires and module in the license plate mounting bracket.
