If you were to add ABS to both wheels, you may also need to add a front vs. rear brake proportioning system.

The entire braking & proportioning system would need to be engineered to revert to a manual system in failure mode.

It's a minimum of 17 pocket protectors job, with a couple three prop hats thrown in for good measure.



Then there is the insurance carrier's position, that in the
event of a claim, they have the potential back door of a bike without a DOT approved braking system.
