My bike has a Hella headlight on it. Went to change the bulb and when I pulled the old bulb I relized it had a 80/100 bulb in there. Any experience anyone? I have the Hella replacements on my Jeep but always ran the stock watt 55/60 bulb.

Just looking and I see that it is the Hella non DOT e-code lamp. The light pattern is very similar to my Hella DOT lamps but not sure if I should run another 80/100 watt or not.

I had an 80/100 in mine, switched to a sylvania sealed beam unit, much better!! You should be fine. You'd have had problems already if it was too much.

I have been using a 100/80W from JC Whitney for 3 years, and the low beam just went out. It was a great light bulb. I am now buying a 3 pack from JC Whitney for $22.99. http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/stor...1&langId=-1

Don't really want a sealed beam because I like to carry a spare. Plus I really like the euro light pattern. I suppose with all the changes people make I will not have a problem with a non DOT light at inspection time?

I didn't get hassled at inspection. I think most bike shops like to see bright lights! I went to the guy in Medford at the Honda dealer on 112, he spent a good 15 minutes just lookin the bike over
