Hi, I was finally able to purchase and mount the Headwinds spot lights that I had in mind when I first
made my light bar. Take a look and see what you think.
They almost match the headlight housing.

Rats! I know I've been able to post a photo before, but now I'm at a loss... Anyway, there are three views in my gallery.

I have been looking for lights like these, thanks. I noticed in JCWhitney's new MC catalogue on page 53, a pair of small chrome driving lights for $12.99. They use a 55w H3 bulb. I wonder if they are worth a flip?
I'll look for some headwinds.

I would like to get the Headwinds headlight housing too, but as you say FriarJohn, big bucks. That $300+ would go along ways towards a big bore! Skillet, I am using some of the "inexpensive" (read cheap) mirrors from JCW, and I really like them, but some of their stuff is pretty crappy. But for under $20, you aren't out much if they aren't up to snuff.

Soren, it's not looking too good for the cruise this Sunday. Are you going if it's rainy?

Where did you get such a clean hardware set up? I made a light bar similar to yours last year and I'm still using the lights that came with the Triumph lightbar kit. This means I have big nasty-looking nuts showing underneath (I didn't just type that, did I?). Yours looks nice and flush.

That's a pretty thick plate, I'm gonna guess two things:) One is he counter bored the holes and two is that the bolts go up into the light as opposed to a threaded studd hanging down from the lights, so all he has to counterbore is a nut head. Or am I the nuthead? Either way it is SUPER clean looking. I've been debating the whole lightbar thing and also as an option for my signals, and I REALLY miss the machine shop at my old job right now... That looks great.

Speedracer, Very nice. That was the look I was going for and thought about the headlight as well. I sent them an e-mail to ask if they had dimensions on a couple of the plates so I could possibly adapt to our bikes. I think I got an answer back asking if I was still interested about a month later. By that time I moved on to other things and changes. Oh well, my woes, but nice lights non the less.

Yeah, Benny hit it on the head, the mounting holes were drilled through and then were countersunk large enough for the allen head cap screws. If your bar is thick enough that still could be an option...

My plate isn't quite as thick, but it is steel, not aluminum. I'd be happy with nice chrome button heads underneath. The mounting posts for my driving lights are "male." I'd need female to be able to bolt up through the bottom. I've looked in catalogs but haven't found anything of the sort.

Maybe instead of your "big nasty nuts", you could find some chrome acorn nuts for the mounts? Might look a little better...

Those look great SpeedRacer. I am looking at doing a very similar setup on my front end as well. I want to tie in the driving lights and turn signals with the windscreen installed. I found some nice lights and housings at J&P Cycles. I bought the Adjure 7" headlight bucket with the with the Trillient Tribar and bluedot. Not installed yet but will work with the overall lighting idea I have for the front. I have the Adjure Beacon 2 marker lights for the rear turn signals. Looking at similar Beacon 2's for the driving lights and Beacon 1's for the front end turn signals mounted to the forks in a very similar fashion to the way you hae it done. I have to figure out the bracket design and wiring runs. It's all about time, time, time...

Again, looks great. It has a nice clean elegant appearance.

By the way, do you have drawings for the bracket you fabricated. Would definitely help speed my process along.
