It actually got down to 48 degrees this morning. I shivered on the way to work! I guess I'll have to start wearing my liner in my jacket and dig my chaps out of the closet! Word is there is a freeze warning out for inland central Florida tonight. Maybe I'll get a frosty helmet in the morning!

48? It was right around the freezing mark the whole 22 mile ride to work. In fact, I saw a few snow flurries.
I can't wait until spring...

We need to talk the VA guys into a frozen butt Skyline Drive Ride this week! We could use it as our "thanksgiving" for having good riding conditions (although freezing cold)... What the heck, no snow... no rain... roads dry and clear. PERFECT riding conditions.

Maybe a snake charmer! Was supposed to brew Friday. That's canceled so I can enjoy the 50degF weather around the Chicagoland area.Guess I'll have to brew on Saturday, unless it's nice of course.
Ride On!

It was in the balmy upper fifties this morning on my ride in.
When I left the gym at 6:30 PM it was still shirt sleeve riding weather. We are having a heat wave here just before T-giving day.

Well .....if you have never been back here in the Wild Wild west.....we do have wide open spaces and lots of different turns here and there.
I have never been to NY. furthest east I have been is Wash DC for a few days a year ago. Other than that the furthest east I have been/lived was Arkansas years ago. When I was a tyke my dad was stationed in Greenville Missisippi.
Never have been anywhere near the Big Apple.

Snowing/sleeting in central PA today. So it begins.... Supposed to be 50 degrees on T-day in MD. Maybe I'll break the bike out for quick spin out to my parents. Then, it's probably Stabil time.

I'm sure glad the word hasn't gotten out about our twisty roads.

That's a pic about 30 miles into the Devil's Highway that runs parallel to the New Mexico border. It goes from about 9,000 ft, around where that pic was taken back in May 04, down to 4,000 ft. It's called the Devil"s Highway because it used to be numbered Hwy 666. That came from originally being the 6th branch off of Route 66. But the powers that be finally decided 666 was just too evil, so they renumbered it to hwy 191. What makes this such a great motorcycle road is that over about 60 miles or so there are virtually no feeder roads. The time I rode it when that pic was taken, I saw a total of 5 cars in 90 miles. Nope, this isn't any Tail of the Dragon where traffic is getting to be unbearable. It's just an awesome ride if you like twisty roads.
But don't tell anyone else about it.
Our 5 day forecast goes from 82 gradually decreasing to 75 for the high. Oops, starting to get chilly.

Well if you're willing to work for illegal alien influenced wages, then there's jobs to be had. The minimum wage across the state was just voted a raise to $6.50/hr.

Get the Widder Electric Vest! You'll wonder how you ever rode without it.
I rode for many seasons without an electric vest, and know that I have one, wonder how I ever did it. I can ride in the 30's and never shiver because the vest. Best money I ever dropped into my hobby.

It has been in the mid30s here in the mornings. Just put on some clothes and ride. Here's a good reference chart - the dark blue temps are temps where skin freezes quickly: Riding Wind Chill Remember - standard wind chills are measured 30' feet above ground. Not the 5 feet, where our faces are located.
Ride Safe,
Dennis
