Got tired of carrying the abus disk lock around so decided to buy the holder for it (SH37). This is a simple bolt on kind of thing, but I can´t actually find anywhere suitable to bolt the thing to.
Anybody else using one of these and how did you attach it ?

Hiya Craig
Out here on your own with over 40 views and no replies?
I'll answer your question mate - I have the Abus disc lock but I must admit to never using it!
I must attach it to the bike and then I'll use it more!
It's too heavy to put in your pocket and I don't always have the panniers on.
Seems a good tough lock so I'll take your lead and fix it to the bike .. er .. somwhere!

Slight pause while I go and look at the bike.
I figure with a little careful use of a knife, the carry case it comes in could be cut and an 'aftermarket' buckle strap could fix it to the rear chrome rack I have fitted instead of the pillion seat.
Use the lock and at least the carry case will stuff into a pocket.
Thanks for the post and reminding me I have the lock and that I should use it ....

Hi Adrian,
You´re right, its a good lock but too heavy to be carrying around in the pocket. Dunno about England but you need a second lock here in Sweden as an insurance requirement.
I never thought about using the case, seeing as I shelled out on the proper holder, without off course checking to see where it might fit. I found a potential spot where the frame cradle comes up under the tank. There are 2 bolts there joining the frame together, but I am a bit wary of messing with these. Failing that it´ll have to be some bodging or back to the stretched pockets.
Cheers
/Craig

Second lock? I don't even use a 'first' lock !!

I rely on the alarm / imobilizer.

I never lock the steering because those locks are worse than useless. A clout with a hammer or well placed boot will, and has, dispatched them!!

I really must start using the disc lock though. I have just bought a tool roll for the front and, until I can sort a holder out, it will no doubt fit in there.
