Never took your observation any other way than as a personal observation Derek. I'm pretty "oblivious" that way .

Ambulance bingo? No, they don't raffle off ambulances. It's a fundraiser for the local volunteer ambulance/emt crew. People pay 5 bucks a card for 20 games, plus quarter games for other prizes. Some buy lots of cards. Turkeys, and all kinds of stuff are donated for the winners. It's the social event of the fall season in our little town. This evening we had 350-400 people in the local gymnasium, I know many of the people and about all of the crew. I mostly attend to harass and torment friends (kind of like on this board). It's a service nobody takes for granted. They generally raise 4 - 5 thousand dollars, which helps in a small way to make the budget.
