I don't know how to feel about it. After all swill is swill and Coors is the king of swill. Was having a burger at Ruby Tuesday's and ordered a non-happy hour draught: Blue Moon. Served in a nice pilsner style glass, this draught was delicious. The waitress delivered it with a slice of orange placed on the rim of the glass. Thought at first, OMG another swill that needs not a lime, but an orange! This is the first time for me. I might have pinched one or two bottles during the GA Rally last May, but then there is a reason why you serve the finest wine first...So I never really knew the flavor of this brew. Makes me yearn for dinqua's 110 IBU IPA Coors. What a joke. But they do license a great beer. Imagine. A non-swill brew made by the king of swill, served in a swill food flavored restaurant. That Blue Moon of Tennessee kept me shine'n!

Y'all have a nice day! ya'hear?

No fair hijacking this thread...I'm going to go search my local packie (beer retailer) for this beer of which you speak...so that I may be enlightened and speak with some knowledge on this in the future!

Blue Moon in bottles had been marketed here since it came out. The wheat flavor is fine with me, but personally, I can't stand any citrus flavor added to beer.

I heard this citrus mess started when the old Coronas were served in Mexico. They originally had steel caps that left rust on the bottle. Bartenders would put a lime (or sometimes lemon) on the top of the bottle to wipe the rust off. They no longer have the rusting caps, but for some reason the Americanos thought you were supposed to put the lime IN the beer. It caused such a sales craze for Corona, their ads even promted the idea. Who cares if it ruins the taste of the beer, it made them lots of money!

Yeah, right. I'd rather have any beer without fruit...I think it ruins the flavor of even swill.

Nothing wrong with Blue Moon and adding a little citrus zing. Corona drinkers have been doing it for years.

Curl up on the couch with your life-partner in Massachussetts for an episode of Will and Grace or perhaps a soccer game.

Next thing you know you'll be buying a Cardinal Red (yet another shade of pink) motorcycle.

As I own a nut-sack, it's Guinness for me.

I need a cigarette, I'll be quiet now.

With all this talk about good brew... I think I'll saddle up Black Beauty tommorrow and mosey on out to the Griffin Tavern (a great little British Tavern here in the Commonwealth) and enjoy a nice hand pulled Boddingtons or two while warming my arse by the real wood fire in the fireplace. I'll be sure and toast all my Triumph brothers and sisters while there. Whatever you're holding, hoist em high... salute!

Blue Moon is much better without fruit. My personal policy is that if it needs fruit, it aint worth drinking.
The absolute best Heffeweissen out there is Widmer Brothers. Although even better is their Drop Top Amber Ale.

Oh yeah. Very good stuff. Costco recently had a Belgian beer sampler pack; three different Belgian beers in an eighteen pack. Stella Artois an excellent Lager, Hoegarden really good for a sweet beer and a blonde ale forget the name drank it all so I don't have a bottle .

My own preference is for something really hoppy. I like the bite. India pale ales usually work .

best beer I have had in a long time was at a brew pub up here (can only get it in the winter) it's called "Blue Monk Ale".

Well, if you like dark ones.. and I mean DARK then this is the beer for you. Also it happens to be 8% which is just a nice added benefit

07 TBA Pacific Blue and White.. stock for now! A bike has half the wheels my cage does.. but 3x the fun factor

Blue Moon is a decent example of a Belgian Wit. But, for some of the finest in the world try Ommegang Belgian Beers
which also happens to be brewed and cave conditioned in Upstate New York! This stuff is fantastic! They sell it everywhere here. Next NorEaster I'll be sure to have some on hand for ya to sample.

So here's a tip for those of you who like Blue Moon but not the slice of orange: tell the barman NOT to put an orange in!

This tip also works great if you want a margarita without an umbrella; a brandy Alexander without a cherry; or a dozen buffalo wings without a stick of celery.

Siggy

Unfortunately, Siggy, Blue Moon has citrus flavor already in the beer. If they would take that out, I'd probably like it.

Oh oh oh! I know that one!
It's from dehydrated carando orange peels!
Ther zest of the orange only, no pith, the pith makes it bitter.
By the way, I could giver anyone (well, brewers) a great recipe for it if you want to try making some. It's fast and easy. The secret is in the yeast. White labs is better than the Wyeast for a nice wit.

Everyone goes...huh???

Just LOVE beer!!!!! I've been fortunate enough to have been a bartender, and even better a bar manager. I use to love ordering new stuff every week to "sample". Love many of the belgiums.
Dam you Dinqua, I almost forgot about Ommegang, now I have to find some, or have my chef friend order me some.
Love some of the trappist beers. Use to serve Chimay and Orval in nice corked bottles at the restaurant I worked in. Goes great with bison.
I know the owner of Blue Point here on LI. If anyone ever wants to set up a tour and drink all the free beer you want let me know. Some good beers and they just won a gold medal this year.
