Hi, I just bought a Triumph America 2002 model, I wanted to know what kind of oil I should use? For the crankcase & the gear box. I have mixed opinions on synthetic or regular oil.And what wait oil should I use? The bike only has 4000 miles on it,Carbs have been re-jetted for the upgraded pipes. Some feedback would be greatly appriciated. Thanks Harles

Synthetic is more than OK, it's recommended. I prefer the motorcycle specific (it's also recommended by the manual). I use 10w40 Mobil 1 MX4T year round. Takes 4 quarts with filter change. Around the middle of the sight glass somewhere is fine.
Did someone have the owner's manual on a PDF file here somewhere?

Chances are if you have a question, it's already been asked a few times, so do a quick search and I bet you'll find what you want. We're constantly updating the Tech Vault too, so take a gander there. Good reading if you're having trouble sleeping some night And if you don't find what you need, you can always ask.

It's in the Tech Vault. Last post has a download link.
