A couple inches of rain and I decided to work on the cage. My jeep needed a new waterpump. I've known for almost two months but who wants to do that on a nice day. What fun. I guess approaching a quarter million miles I should not complain about changing the original pump......but I still am Of course I did it in the driveway instead of parking the bike in the rain and doing it in the garage. You would think I would change the lower hose being that I only changed it once, oh well! Stupid cages

I say those same words all Spring, Summer and Fall. House related chores build up, I take care of the more pressing ones. But given the choice of riding or.........

Maybe if Winter isn't too much I can accomplish a few things before the "cycle" starts again

BTW: I helped jump start a co-workers' jeep yesterday.

I stained my house in Aug/Sept. Took a long time in between all the riding.

Hey Kars: What year Jeep. Mine is a 92, with 128,000 miles on it. I had to change the water pump at about 100,000 miles. I need to put a new clutch kit in her. I have had problems with the hydraulic clutch from day one. The slave leaks. I have also had a lot of problems with the dam*** inside door handles. They make them out of cheap pop together plastic that wears out quickly. I am going to have to come up with something other than stock. Another stupid thing was having the engine air intake just below the left front headlamp. I flooded her once because of that. I would like to completely rebuild the engine. I really like the 4L 6 cylinder engine. I came close to buying a new Jeep, but knowing these problems, I bought a Subaru. It's the ugliest car I have ever owned and the accelerator is electronic and has a glitch in it, but I only drive it in the winter. I ride the bike the rest of the year. I am at the point where I hate cages and feel they are a complete ripoff.

96 but it is a cherokee XJ. My 6th Jeep, the least miles I put on any was 197k. Most I put 300k+ on them. 92 is a bad year for wranglers. But the I6 is a great motor, too bad it's gone. I use my Jeeps, unlike most. Would never buy a modern Subaru for long term ownership. Too expensive and unreliable after 100k. Plus they won't do what I want them to. I have traveled through 44 states, parts of canada and mexico, through many passes and ranges in my Jeeps. Sometimes the so called cheap stuff is a blessing because of the ease of repair. I still buy with no power and as basic as possible. My hobbies are fishing, kayaking and mountaineering so I like the capabilities. Of course none remain stock. Thinking about going back to a wrangler because I miss the fresh air. They are starting to put too much technology into the new ones. Though my next adventure vehicle may be a dual sport.

My last company car was a Liberty. Say what you will, but you would have been amazed where I took that thing!

I'm sure you did. Most people are quite amazed at what a stock Jeep can do, they have just never tried or seen it. I like the liberty but do not want to deal with IFS.
I had a Jeep company vehicle once too. Loved beating on a Jeep I did not have to repair.

The IFS limmits what you can do with lift and tires, but it's light years ahead on the road!! And lets face it, you can pretty much predict how severe your offroading is going to be, and you can geruntee what your on road time is going to be!! If I had the flow for a decent car, I'd get a real jeep and go nuts!
