I'm getting ready to put mine away for the four month freeze around here.Put hitest with Stabil in the tank hopeing by spring I'll still have good octain for start up.Is this a good plan or just a waste of money?? I always put oil in the cylinders for the winter, starte up with old plugs then put new ones in ,in the spring.

I, too am getting ready to put the beautiful black 03 Speedie up for the winter......uh...when it starts...say sometime after Christmas maybe or New Years day or say February around then give or take a few days here and there... Usually we celebrate the beginning of Spring here around mid Februaryish.

True sun tan weather begins in March.
have to preserve things for a few days during the cold spell. (Just put a cover over the bike to keep the frost off on those few mornings when the temps dip below freezing)

Gotta be careful though the bike is hard to start early in the morning during those 43 degree lows.

dont know if its a waiste of money or not.But i run hitest year round. When you are getting 40 odd mpg whats 20cents.
I usuallly start running stablizer about a month before I put whatever kind of bike I'm running away for the winter. ive never put oil in the cylinders. But know of one guy who did with his Ninja. And it gave him a hell of a time starting the next year.I'd be curious to know how many peopel do that (put oil in cylinders that is).

While on the subject does anyone have any mouse away tips?
other than tying a cat to the front wheel?

I notice if you keep your motorcycle in the living room it keeps most rodents away from it, as long as you have a rodent free house that is.

As long as there's also not a cardboard tube or two, it's OK.

Well that explains things. But what needs explaining is why you were trying to get Megan to "use" it on you later.

I was worried about the little buggers...I saw you gather them up and take them into the bathroom...never saw them again. Should have called PETA on you I guess.
