Well, my forward controls are now about 3/8" more forward. I have two bloody knuckles and two less hours in my life, but I did it. I'm sure it's psychosomatic, but I can feel the difference that 3/8 of an inch makes.

Here was my shopping list:

M8 1.25 x 30 socket head cap screws (4)
5/16" stainless flat washers (4)
5/16" stainless split lock washers (12)

Most of the time it took to do this little project was spent filing the bolt holes on the foot control bar with my little rat tail file. If you attempt this project, I highly recommend a Dremel tool or similar.

I put three lock washers between the frame and the foot control bar and I put a flat washer between the foot control bar and the head of the bolt. That's about all the more room I have before things start touching the header pipes.

Interesting, whoch hole did you have to file? There are 4 bolts holding it on, and I put a stack of flat washers between the bar and frame, and a lock washer under the head of the bolt. The hardest part for me is holding all the washers in place when sliding the bolts in.

I had to essentially widen the bolt pattern on the foot control bar. That is to say I filed the outside edge of the bolt holes.

Mine is an 05 America.
