A mate of mine used to own a Ducati. He loved it, but traded it in for a Suzuki because the sevicing costs were so high. Minor every 4000 miles, major every 8000 miles and he said it was a £500 and 4 or 5 day job for the major (that may just have been a bad dealer of course).
Talking of Aston Martins - some years ago I was working in Newport Pagnell (where they build, or used to build, them). The factory was on both sides of the road, and the guys used to mount the unpainted bodies onto a trolley and push it across the road to the paintshop, then push the painted body back across the road!
