Painted those large, ugly steel engine bolt heads this weekend - flat black, high heat paint. Looks really nice.

Ask and you shall receive.... Baby needs a bath though..... I also had the cooler, the spacer on the bottom bolt, the nuts on the other ends (naturally!), and the 4 allen head bolts chromed too. I see now I forgot to paint the inside of those - they're showing a little rust.... I've got an extra set of cooler lines and banjo bolts. I may get them done this winter. It's a disease, I tell ya!!

That's too much, IMO. You need the contrast of the bike's color to offset/enhance the shiny bits.

I see now that most of us have entirely too much time on our hands. Wife wants to know why after buying a new bike I'm always adding or changing something. Hard to explain when for years I've gone with the idea that if it ain't broke don't fix it. Amazing what two wheels will do to an old man....!

I have had the EXACT same conversation with MY lovely wife...and she adds "I thought you said the bike was exactly what you wanted, so why are you doing.........."
I explained to her that the Bike IS exactly what I wanted...a PERFECT starting point to make my own

Yeah, we could compare chrome bills. He would win that one. It's a hobby, a pastime. It takes my mind off of work and other things when I can't ride. Some guys want to squeeze every last drop of speed out of their bikes, I'm happy keeping it running well and adding shiny bits now and then.

Yeah I hear ya. I wish I thought to take a better look at people's bikes at Pat's. I spent more time chasing that darn T30 bit around.... I've seen Gary's bike, minus the chrome tank, it is quite snazzy!

Hi......
You guys may have opened one of the biggest cans of worms !!!!!
The Wife dos'nt understand.....
I spend time and money on my bikes, acording to the wife "To much",....it keeps me sane you know. Having time is the main factor, having the cash to spend is another. Of course, having your bike look nice is part of owning one.
My brother in law says "its my way for making up for having a ugly wife". (His sister) MmMmM....GLAD HE SAID THAT!!!
"I just can't put it down"
