I asked the PO if he was a member...... nope. He's a semi retired computer consultant....... go figure.
I'm very happy with the bike..... his loss.
Here is a link to a bigger pic, and my other Triumph!

I went ahead and added the larger photos below.

The seat base is standard issue Triumph, I believe, that has had a custom rework in Ft Worth TX. I have to say that it was comfortable during 700 miles of riding home. My rear end had very little fatigue.

Nice TR6 there, Bob!(BRG...the "right color")
What year? I'm guessin' a '71 or '72, 'cuz it doesn't have those ugly U.S. mandated bumpers.
Cheers, Dwight (Nice lookin' bike ya got there too bro)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Welcome to the site Bob.
Nice looking TR6, and bike too!
I believe that TR6 has a front air dam, which would make it a 73 or later. Or at least I think that's the way it goes.

The color is British Racing Green's better looking cousin......... Mallard Blue. A better color IMO... She is a 74, with the rubber baby buggy bumpers in a pile in the corner of my shop. I bought it last year about this time for the exact same money as the America....$4k That seems to be my magic number. If I want it and get it for that much it has a tendency to come to fruition. I put about a Grand into it last winter, and God only knows how many hours. It's cold around here in the winter..... A guy has to have something to do.

Well, you did a very nice job on it, sir!(yeah...the Mallard Blue IS a great color for the car) And losin' those "rubber baby buggy bumpers" was a good idea, too! That's what fooled me.(but evidently the eagle-eyed Derek picked up on that front spoiler....good goin' there dude)

Well the America is my Third toy to my wife's..... well zero. She said OK with out a blink though........ God love her. I did promise to teach her how to drive the TR6 today though...She can drive a standard as good as any man, but the TR has... ahhhh....idiosyncrasies. If you have ever owned a LBC, especially one that I have worked on , you can appreciate what I am talking about.

No, I haven't. Just a few britbikes throughout the years, but I've always wanted either an early E-type or big Healy, but seein' as how a nice example of one of those babies are way beyond my meager means now, I wouldn't turn down a nice TR4-6, if one happens to come down the pike lookin' for a nice new home.(Anglo-centrism....a curse or a blessing?...a question to which the wisest of men have never seemed to supply an answer!) But at this time, I'm kind'a fixed on the idea of purchasing within the next couple of years a 550 Beck Spyder(Porsche replicar). Cheers, Dwight

Well at least you are in the right part of the states to have a nice selection. Finding unusual stuff around here can be tough. As I mentioned in another post it is very likely that I am the only America in a town of 100K, and the only way I cross paths with another TR6 is at a car club meet.
Happy hunting!

I was happy with the deal, but it is the end of the riding season so prices are down a little. I don't think you will be able to buy one like that in the spring. It came from the original owner a 65 year old gentleman. He had it on eBay, with a buy it now of $4750, and start of $4000. He never got a bid?? He lived on a gravel road in south Texas, and had some Vietnam vet stickers on the tank, so maybe that scared people off. He didn't have alot of feedback either. I contacted him after the auction, and we got together. Stickers came off, and with a couple of nights of cleaning you would never know it had been down a dirt road.

Taking stickers off is always difficult. What year is it? Now I sound like the people I meet on the road.

The bike is a 2004 model that sold new in August of 2004. The miles are a little high compared to others that are for sale out there. 11K. I see lots of them with 2500 to 5500 miles. Some as low as 1200. From what I can tell talking to others on the board 11K is nothing for these bikes........... it's a good thing too having looked at replacement part prices I plan on it lasting me for many years to come.

Nice bike, enjoy!
(The black ones are the fastest)
I purchased a Speedmaster in a similar way - used at 1,000 or 1,200 miles.

www.Thirdgen.org My other toy is a 91 Z/28. It is in my shop now undergoing a Corvette motor transplant. Already has the T-56 six speed upgrade, and a host of suspension, and handling upgrades.

Nice! I was a 4th Gen owner, sold to make room for my bikes. We still have the Impala SS. I'm mulling over a 6-speed swap.
