I'm replacing the rear brake pads on my 06 SM.

BTW - incase anyone else out there has an 06 SM there's a known problem with warped front rotors.... Which I'm lucky & happened to get that option on my bike.

Either way due to the warped front rotor(s) (dunno if its both yet) I've been very heavy on the rear brakes & now @ 3800 miles find myself needing to change the pads. Yeah I should have taken it in sooner but here in Chicago ya gotta take full advantage of the good days when they're here.

Wanting to do it correct & safely can anyone who owns or has access to the 'Repair Manual' can you PM or post the torque specs for the rear caliper: the moutning bolts, the pisiton hex screws, the bleeder valve etc....

I've been wanting to order a Repair Manual but have been slackin & my dealer said it'll take about 4 days... is there any place to get one quicker?
But at least in the meantime if anyone can get those spec that would be fantasitc!!!
Thnx,
-K

Scroll to the bottom of this page, and you'll find a pdf document with all the torque specs for your bike.

I have an old (2002) manual, but I can't imagine they've changed the torques on these items.
I'll post, then if they're the same in the newer book, someone else can just say "yep"...

Mounting bolts - 40nm
Pad pins - 18nm
Bleeder - 5nm

More flags More fun!
